Two Boarded Windows - Day 183

ISO 100,f/8.0, 1/800th sec

This scene was captured in the late afternoon light in Preston City. These board windows are on a Maintenace shed at the Preston City cemetery. I liked how the roof and the grass on the ground provided a contrast to the white siding of the building which is an effective framing technique. This is the 41st architecture image I have posted to date.

Lone window in North Stonington - Day 182

ISO 500, f/8.0, 1/80th sec

This window set against the cedar shingles drew my eye to this scene originally. After looking at it more closely, I saw the fan and curtains in the window and knew I was going to photograph it. My first thought was to leave the white trim board out and I did capture a couple of images without it. However, this is the one I settled on. This is the 40th architecture photo I have posted to my blog.

Front Porch View - Day 181

ISO 100, f/8.0, 1/50th sec

This is one of those images that I was sure if I should post it as a street image and architecture photo. In this case I went with architecture. Located just a few hundred feet down the street from the North Stonington Town Hall this porch scene is literally right on the road. This makes the 39th architecture image I have created so far.

Hydrant In the Grass - Day 180

ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/500th sec

Sometimes you just take a photo because you think it's a good image though most everyone else might not think so. This image is one of those times. I really like how it was sticking out of the weeds and long grass. It just drew me in so I decided to go with the flow that morning. This will make Day 180 and just about halfway through my 365-blog post goal.

Americana Planter - Day 179

ISO 100, f/4.5, 1/500th sec
This is my second street style image I am posting to my blog. The americana planter can be found at the intersections of route 12 and route 14 in Central Village. It has been at this location for years and as you can see from the photo it has become a little worn over time. Still, it makes a good subject for my style of small-town street photography.
